Companies House has formally accepted UKLPG as the name for the new industry association formed from the amalgamation of the LP Gas Association (LPGA) and the Association for Liquid Gas & Equipment Distributors (ALGED). The board of the new association will hold its first meeting in February/March.
Countrywide has announced a multi-million pound deal that sees the company acquiring Esso’s 50 per cent interest in its lpg joint venture. Esso originally acquired the interest over 15 years ago.
BP LPG UK Ltd has announced that, in order to improve its logistics operations, it has made a significant investment in its tanker fleet. The company has taken delivery of the first of 13 new primary trailers which, through increased payload capacity, will reduce its CO2 emissions by 16 per cent and kilometres travelled by over 300,000km per year.
Telemetry is used to automatically measure the amount of lpg within a storage tank so that the volume of each delivery can be increased; run outs and emergency deliveries can be eliminated; part load deliveries, order processing errors and manpower can be reduced; customer service can be improved and proactive delivery scheduling can be initiated.
Lp gas handling specialists are often approached by businesses who have been the subject of an unfavourable health and safety audit. It is invariably the storage of the gas cylinders that creates an issue for the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
