Countrywide Acquires Esso InterestCountrywide has announced a multi-million pound deal that sees the company acquiring Esso’s 50 per cent interest in its lpg joint venture. Esso originally acquired the interest over 15 years ago.
David Asquith, general manager of Countrywide’s energy business, has been instrumental in the deal.
“We have been working very closely with Esso to secure this deal, which fits superbly with the strategic plans for the Countrywide Energy business and presents a great opportunity for us to consolidate Countrywide’s lpg interest,” he said. “Our business continues to expand geographically in the Midlands, the south, the southwest and Wales, and taking back 100 per cent ownership for all our trading area has strong commercial advantages for us and our customers.”
John Hardman, Countrywide’s managing director, said: “This is the largest deal Countrywide has completed and will be earnings enhancing in year one, presenting an excellent return on investment for our shareholders.”
