Billy Laing has stepped up to the position of chairman of Gleaner Oil & Gas. David Todd, formerly general manager, has replaced Billy as managing director and been appointed to the board.

David joined Gleaner in 2004 and is Scotland’s regional chairman for the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers (FPS). Billy Laing has managed Gleaner since the 1960s and has overseen the expansion of the company’s activities during his stewardship.

Gleaner is a Shell distributor for the northeast and highlands and islands of Scotland and has over 80 branded filling stations, located mainly in rural areas. In 2007, the company turned over approximately £115 million and has featured in the top 500 companies in Scotland for many years.
