Elgin based Gleaner Oils has added four lpg autogas Citroen Berlingo vans to its fleet, purchased from Pedigreed Cars in Forres and converted to lpg autogas by Prins Autogas UK in Wolverhampton.
Andrew Laing, marketing and filling station manager at Gleaner, said: “Gleaner Oils is at the forefront of the use of lpg autogas, which is an inexpensive, environmentally friendly and highly efficient motor fuel. The majority of Gleaner’s company car and van vehicle fleet run on lpg autogas, including Saabs, Vauxhall Astras and combo vans, along with the recent addition of four Citroen Berlingo vans. Each lpg autogas van will provide significant savings annually against similar vehicles running on petrol or diesel.”
The four Citroen Berlingo lpg autogas vans will be used by Gleaner engineers based in Aberdeen, Argyll and Bute and Strathspey to carry out central heating servicing and boiler repairs.
Andrew said: “At Gleaner Oils, we take pride in being a prominent company developing the lpg autogas market in Scotland. In the Highlands, where conventional fuel prices are higher than the urban city, Gleaner is offering a cheaper alternative. With lpg autogas sites on Orkney and the Isles of Lewis and Skye, users of lpg autogas are finding a real alternative to conventional fuels. Currently, Gleaner has 33 lpg autogas sites situated throughout Scotland.
“Gleaner operates in one of the most attractive natural environments in Europe, and we’re committed to the ongoing promotion of lpg autogas as part of our support for continuous environmental improvement. We see our responsibility not just for the present, but also to undertake improvements for the benefit of others in years to come.”
