Training Developments Scotland (formerly GPE Training Services (UK) Ltd) has opened a new gas training academy in Paisley near Glasgow, the only facility of its kind in the west of Scotland, says the company. The purpose-designed centre offers workshop and classroom facilities and is approved by BPEC.
As well as Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) training and assessment, Training Developments Scotland also runs gas foundation courses designed for people with no gas industry experience (Cat 3) who wish to satisfy the ACS entrance requirements prior to application for Gas Safe registration.
Douglas McShane, director at Training Developments Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have the centre opened and we are amazed at the level of interest our courses have gained. The academy is attracting interest from employers across the region eager to develop the skills of their workforce. With our gas foundation courses, we can embrace the Government’s aim to train and employ unemployed men and women in the region.”
Gas assessment centre manager David Liddell added: “The facilities and capabilities of the centre here are fantastic. We are confident that our new facility, combined with our experienced trainers and assessors, will allow us to ensure that our trainees are receiving the best training possible within the industry.
“As far as lpg is concerned, we are finishing the workshop development and will then seek scope approval from BPEC.”
