gas-elec Reducing Lp Gas Billsgas-elec has launched its g-save Economiser, which works on lpg, natural gas or oil-fuelled installations to help reduce heating bills by up to 35 per cent, says the company. Independent trials have shown savings of 22 per cent for a two bedroom terraced cottage, and 34 per cent for a four bedroom detached house (calculated on actual meter readings with and without the g-save Economiser).
John Pett, a qualified gas engineer and consultant from Kent, performed independent gas energy usage tests over a two-week period in a three bedroom semi-detached house built in 1935 with a typical 225mm (9”) solid wall construction. Occupied by two adults and two late teenage children, the property recorded a 22 per cent saving on gas usage with the installation of the g-save Economiser (weather conditions were fairly similar throughout the two weeks).
John Davidson, managing director of gas-elec, said: “Staggering increases in gas and electricity prices have resulted in a plethora of energy saving tips from the Government and energy companies. But the fact remains, if we want to pay less for our gas, we’ve got to use less. The g-save Economiser allows you to do just that.”
The patented g-save Economiser has two electronic timers that each pulse at different pre-set times, which run 24-hours a day, seven days a week. One timer is wired into the room thermostat, whilst the other is wired into the hot water cylinder thermostat wiring. The g-save Economiser pulses the demand for heat so that the latent heat in the system that is still moving around is used to full effect, even when the boiler is not active, thus making substantial savings on gas usage.
