Countrywide Reporting Record Profits

Countrywide has reported a record-breaking year for sales and profit in its annual report for the year to 31 May 2008. Countrywide’s energy division recorded overall fuel volumes up by 21 per cent and lp gas volumes up 11 per cent compared to last year, boosted by the half-year acquisition of the 50 per cent interest in its lp gas joint venture owned by ESSO.

The company showed growth in its retail, agricultural and energy businesses, increasing its overall turnover by 18 per cent to £190m, with group operating profit increasing to £1.8m.
