Association Officially UKLPG

Companies House has formally accepted UKLPG as the name for the new industry association formed from the amalgamation of the LP Gas Association (LPGA) and the Association for Liquid Gas & Equipment Distributors (ALGED). The board of the new association will hold its first meeting in February/March.

Countrywide Acquires Esso Interest

Countrywide has announced a multi-million pound deal that sees the company acquiring Esso’s 50 per cent interest in its lpg joint venture. Esso originally acquired the interest over 15 years ago.

BP Announces Fitter Fleet

BP LPG UK Ltd has announced that, in order to improve its logistics operations, it has made a significant investment in its tanker fleet. The company has taken delivery of the first of 13 new primary trailers which, through increased payload capacity, will reduce its CO2 emissions by 16 per cent and kilometres travelled by over 300,000km per year.

Gleaner Appoints New Chairman

Billy Laing has stepped up to the position of chairman of Gleaner Oil & Gas. David Todd, formerly general manager, has replaced Billy as managing director and been appointed to the board.

UIB Purchases Kosan Crisplant

United International Bank (UIB), based in Bahrain, has announced the completion of its purchase of Kosan Crisplant (KC) in Denmark, a provider of systems for the filling and reconditioning of lpg cylinders, from Segulah.

NME Transiting Demand

Nicholson McLaren Engines Ltd (NME) has introduced a congestion charge exempt lpg conversion for the latest Ford Transit vans with the Duratec 2.3 petrol engine that meets European standard R6701 and is European On Board Diagnosis (EOBD) compliant.

Cadillacs Receiving GFI injector

From 2008, TeleflexGFI’s SGI Type 3 system for Cadillac models will be fitted with a new GFI injector developed by the company. TeleflexGFI has been a regular supplier of lpg systems for Cadillacs in Europe since 2006, and manufactures conversion equipment for the CTS, SRX, STS and Escalade models.

Allaying V10 Concerns

ReManufacturing Services Ltd (RMS) has said that some of its customers have expressed concern over meeting the six monthly change schedule recommended in the maintenance instructions for the DeVisser V10 autogas gun.

Cleaning Up the System

Flashlube is launching its Electronic Valve Saver Kit which, when installed in an lpg powered car, will automatically inject Flashlube’s Valve Saver Fluid into the engine’s fuel system. Flashlube’s Valve Saver Fluid is designed to protect valves and valve seats from excessive recession and harmful carbon and glaze deposits by lubricating the upper cylinder area and cleaning the injectors. It can also be applied as a lead replacement.

SME Converting its Supplier

SME Autogas in Edinburgh has converted two Citroen Berlingo vans for one of its suppliers, Pentland Component Parts Ltd. Pentland purchased the vehicles, which will be used for deliveries, through Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd in Armadale, a Citroen dealer that is keen on lpg and includes the vehicles on its price list and website.

Evesham Fast Tracking Apprentices

Russell Joseph has joined the Energy Training Centre at Evesham & Malvern Hills College as manager. He has over 31 years’ experience in the gas industry, having started his career with British Gas.
