Members’ Opinions
Revealed
There were some interesting responses to the
LPGA’s Membership Questionnaire, circulated earlier in
the year. Of 140 questionnaires distributed to members, 48 were
returned.
Generally, most of the members that returned
the form considered the LPGA’s overall performance to be
high or quite high. Most agreed that the LPGA’s performance
on the provision of technical standards and advice on technical
issues was good,
and that it was important for the association to be involved
in this activity. Not surprisingly, most considered the lobbying
activities of the association to be important and that its performance
was good or excellent.
Most companies rated the performance of
the executive committee to be satisfactory or good, and 60% agreed
that the people forming
the committee are the best people to do this.
Although most agreed
that it was important that the association be financially sound,
75% said they would not be prepared to
provide extra funding to increase promotional activities, and
6% said they thought membership of the association was poor in
terms of value for money.
When asked about the work of the AEGPL,
13% considered its importance low or quite low and 15% thought
its performance to be poor or
below average. 60% said they didn’t know!
