ALGED Chair to Promote
Cooperation
At the conference and AGM of the Association
of Liquid Gas and Equipment Distributors (ALGED), held at the
Lea Marston Hotel in Warwickshire in October, outgoing chairman,
Nick Carter of Lister Gas Pro, handed over his responsibilities
to Steve Walmsley of Northern LPG Supplies.
Nick said: “I
have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am pleased with the
progress that has been made during my two
year stint as chairman. ALGED is now very firmly on the map as
a professional association that does its utmost, within its means,
to safeguard the interests of its members, with the Competition
Commission inquiry being a classic example of how we have supported
our members’ views at the highest levels.”
Steve Walmsley,
who celebrates 25 years in the industry this year, says that
he intends to carry on the progress already achieved
by Nick and the executive committee to further the relationship
between ALGED and the LP Gas Association. During his acceptance
speech, Steve said that he intended to drive forward a system
of cooperation and collaboration but not amalgamation.
