Charity Performance
As the prelude to the LPGA/ALGED dinner held
at the Hinckley Island Hotel in November, the (Leicester & Leicestershire)
Arts in Education Big Band, conducted by Patrick White, played
a selection of popular band music.
The members of the band are
all at school in either the city or the county, and this was
their first public performance with
the current line up. The band will play in the regional National
Concert Band Festival in Warrington later in the term.
The subsequent
bucket collection raised £300 and the Committee
of ALGED donated a further £100. Donations of £200
were made to both the Friends of Arts in Education, which supports
the performance of the students, and to the TROMBONE charity,
which assists victims of terrorist attacks overseas.
