Convoying Across Country
Stephen Fricker at Gas Power UK Ltd is looking
for help with a road trip planned for March 2008 from John O’Groats
to Lands End and back again. The excursion aims to raise the
profile of lpg by showing how little it costs to run an lpg vehicle.
“
Originally, I was going to do the trip with a friend but, as
I talked to people about it, they wanted to get involved, and
now we have 15 vehicles in the convoy, including trucks, pickups,
camper vans and a Tut Tut,” said Stephen.
In fact, so many
people, including Stephen’s customers,
want to become involved that he has had to request permission
from the police to proceed with the convoy. He would also like
to arrange breakdown cover for the journey, and needs the assistance
of conversion companies along the route.
“
We already have cover for Wales and the southwest to Bristol,
but above that we need help,” said Stephen. “Each
converter would only need to be available for a certain stretch
of road and, obviously, we’re hoping we won’t need
them at all, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.”
If
you would like to become involved with the trip, please contact
