BSI Revision
BSI has published a revision of BS 5871 – Specification
for the installation and maintenance of gas fires, convector
heaters, fire/back boilers and decorative fuel effect gas appliances.
The
revisions specify a series of instructions for the installation,
including design, inspection, commissioning and maintenance,
of various types of gas fires and other appliances for the
purpose of heating rooms or spaces in domestic or commercial
premises.
The instructions for CORGI registered persons cover the selection
of a suitable appliance, flueing and ventilation, and other
measures necessary to ensure a safe installation.
