Partnering at the Edge with Liquid Phase injection (LPi) system

Nick Prince Gas Consultants is the formal service partner for Vialle, the Dutch manufacturer of the LPi system, in the UK. Nick Prince assists Vialle converted motor vehicle owners in the UK with parts supply, servicing and technical assistance.

“Vialle’s superb Liquid Phase injection (LPi) system is at the cutting edge of technology and Millbrook currently fits the latest Vialle liquid lpg version for Subaru UK with full vehicle manufacturer’s warranty,” said Nick. “The LPi system is always admired for its ease of installation, the wiring and connectors being of superb quality. Any under bonnet close inspection shows that the lpg components are well placed, as Vialle takes great care when the vehicle specific LPi system and installation guides are developed at Vialle’s application engineering centre in Eindhoven in the Netherlands.”

The LPi system injects liquid lpg directly into the engine. The tank is specific to Vialle, with a dedicated multivalve and electric fuel pump assembly, which increases the lpg pressure to ensure that a constant supply of liquid lpg is ready to be injected into the inlet system of the engine.

The whole system is controlled by a waterproof engine management gas computer fitted in the engine compartment, which integrates with the original petrol engine management system, preventing fault codes from being generated, says Nick.

“This ensures the same driveability, performance and fuel economy as with petrol,” he said. “Many vehicle manufacturers around the world supply their vehicles with factory fitted Vialle systems.”
The Vialle LPi system is pre-calibrated at Vialle’s factory in the Netherlands. Since the lpg is injected in liquid phase, the system does not use a vaporiser.

“The LPi system has none of the problems exhibited by vaporiser systems, which can suffer from loss of power, restriction of gas flow due to mixer rings, backfires and residue wax build up in vaporisers.
