Shell Gas (LPG) has recently raised £1,150 for North West Air Ambulance. Every quarter, Shell commits to donating 10p to charity for every hour achieved without time lost due to injury. Between April and June 2010, the Shell team achieved 115,000 hours without injury and donated the money to North West Air Ambulance.
Phil Turley, managing director at Shell Gas (LPG), said: “The health and safety of our employees is paramount and we do everything we can to ensure that their working environment is hazard free. As we supply many homes and businesses in remote areas in the northwest, we recognise the importance of the work that the air ambulance does, and we are proud to be able to donate the funds to such a worthwhile cause.”
North West Air Ambulance operates seven days a week, 365 days a year, providing emergency support to life threatening incidents over a 5,500 square mile area. The service is crucial, particularly in areas where the terrain varies greatly, from remote rural land to busy motorway networks and cities.
