UKLPG has signed contracts that will see representatives from across the world visit London in September 2013 for the joint World LP Gas Forum and AEGPL Congress. Following a successful bid for the forum by UKLPG, the contracts were signed in the north tower of Tower Bridge in July.
The World LP Gas Forum expects to attract over 3,000 delegates from countries across the world, and will be jointly hosted by the World LP Gas Association, the AEGPL and UKLPG.
Stephen Rennie, UKLPG chair, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the host nation for such a prestigious event. The event will attract lpg suppliers, distributors and equipment manufacturers from across the world, and it will provide the UK industry with an unprecedented opportunity to meet key decision makers and innovators on home ground with whom they can do business. It will provide a huge boost, not only for our members, but for the wider UK economy.”
Nikki Brown, vice chair of UKLPG, said: “This event will be of particular benefit to those companies that design, manufacture and supply equipment and services to the wider lpg industry. The cost saving that will be enjoyed by having all of the world’s buyers together in one place makes this an unmissable event.”
Ramon Serrano, president of both the World LP Gas Association and AEGPL, said: “London was a natural choice for the 2013 event. Following the huge interest in the royal wedding and with the Olympics coming soon, the eyes of the world have been firmly focused on the UK, and so we believe that UKLPG’s national organising committee will be able to provide a first class business environment for our delegates within one of the most vibrant cities of the world.”
