Companies House has formally accepted UKLPG as the name for the new industry association formed from the amalgamation of the LP Gas Association (LPGA) and the Association for Liquid Gas & Equipment Distributors (ALGED). The board of the new association will hold its first meeting in February/March.
Nominations have been received for the ten places on the board, representing national and regional lpg suppliers, equipment suppliers, autogas and one further individual.
“What will be different? Well, quite a lot!” said Lisa Thomson, communications manager at UKLPG. “The culture, direction and style will be key changes seen by members as the organisation picks up momentum through 2008.
“Creating a new board for UKLPG is one of the first activities ahead, and will be the first step towards change. There has been a great response from our future members to stand for the new board and, as a result, elections are taking place to appoint members to the board in the categories of individual, autogas (full membership) and regional gas supplier.
“The elections are due to be held over the next few weeks so make sure you return your commitment forms to ensure you are eligible to vote. News and details of the first ever UKLPG meeting will be sent out towards the end of January. Until then, make sure you keep April 29 and 30 free!”
UKLPG’s website will launch after the first meeting of its board.
