Calor Gas Ltd will sponsor the Fork Lift Truck Association’s (FLTA) Safety Conference to be held at Warwick University on September 30 2009. Now in its seventh year, the national Safety Conference addresses the issues and problems that directly impact users of lpg forklift trucks.
This year’s theme, Understanding and Communicating the Risks, will show what the forklift industry is doing – and what individuals can do – to highlight potential health and safety risks in the workplace.
“Calor was the obvious choice as an event sponsor,” said FLTA chief executive David Ellison. “As a company, they have an unmatched reputation for supporting the safe operation of thousands of businesses in the UK. And for good reason – as the very nature of the lp gas product requires a thorough understanding of safe practices, including hazard identification.”
Calor will host a seminar on best practice for lpg forklift trucks. David added: “The Safety Conference presents an invaluable opportunity to hear about the current research and the latest products available to enhance British workspaces. This year, for example, we have a speaker from the Health & Safety Executive who will reveal outcomes from recent research into causes of investigated forklift truck accidents and incidents.
“Solid, practical talks, such as this, will be of benefit to everyone involved in the use of forklift trucks. That includes owners, providers, site managers, trainers, safety officers and even those who only occasionally hire lifting equipment. Each will go away with essential knowledge that can be applied to his or her own workplace.”
