Three years ago, engineers Peter Preece and Steve Gilliatt decided that vessel manufacture should be about quality and customer satisfaction, and founded VTF Ltd in order to provide customers with both.
VTF Ltd, based in Lincoln, was established in 2006 by Peter Preece and Steve Gilliatt. “We both had extensive knowledge in the pressure vessel and storage tank fabrication from our previous careers,” said Peter Preece, the company’s operations director. “Our experience was in engineering, design and quality assurance. We started VTF Ltd through a desire to produce quality fabrications whilst keeping customer satisfaction a priority.”
VTF refurbishes lpg pressure vessels from 380 litres and above. The company can use existing or bespoke designs in mild or stainless steel, and can deal with all elements of the process from turn around check to thorough examination. It can also carry out all hot work modifications and repairs, including underground conversions, welding, hydro testing and inspection, and has qualified NDT personnel.
The 15,000 sq ft premises include a 10 tonne overhead crane and a purpose built workshop for shot blasting and coating. Lpg gas vessels can also be degassed and valved, and painted internally and externally as required.
“Our commitment to customer satisfaction is paramount and embedded at every level within the company, from order placement to delivery and end of contract documentation,” said Peter. “At VTF, we pride ourselves on our high standards of quality and workmanship. These core values are supported by all our management, office and production staff, and all areas of our manufacture and service have quality objectives – from enquiries through engineering design and specification to fabrication, preparation for transportation and final dispatch.” Welding at VTF is carried out to BSEN 15614:2004 by welders qualified to EN 287-1:2004, and other international standards can be met if requested. The company manufactures lp gas vessels to PD5500 and other recognised codes and can design and produce detailed fabrication drawings.
“Each contract or project is personally managed by senior staff, with regular communication to ensure that work is delivered on time, in full and to our customers’ precise specifications,” said Peter. “We are fully committed to meeting the special needs of our clients. Our policy is one of customer satisfaction, quality, continuous investment and improvement.” VTF can fabricate horizontal or vertical lpg vessels and storage tanks up to 5m in diameter and 15m long, and with any arrangement of support structure. It can also supply internal components, such as filter plates and heating coils. Associated steelwork, including painted or galvanised ladders, catwalks and hand railings, can also be provided.
